Students demand extra attempts at civil services exam on social media The Union Public Service Commission, Civil Services exam (UPSC CSE) aspirants have been demanding an extra attempt and age relaxation in the civil services exam. Candidates have taken to social media platforms with the hashtags #UPSCExtraAteempt and #ExtraAttemptForAll to make their demands. UPSC aspirants have been demanding extra attempts and age relaxation because they couldn’t appear for the exams amid the Covid-19 first and second waves. Other reasons include internet issues in some regions, lockdown, loss of family members and mental stress. Candidates are allowed to appear for six attempts in total and some have not been able to take the last exams due to Covid-19. UPSC has completed the preliminary exams and the main exam is going on. It is being held on January 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16; 9,200 candidates registered for the exams and 9 papers are being held by the commission.
