JNU approves CUET exam pattern given by NTA for admission

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) CUET 2022 exam: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Wednesday announced that the admissions in the university will be done by the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET). The JNU 159th Academic Council meeting was held today. However, the decision was taken during the 157th meeting "to adopt and admit students through CUET whenever the examination is planned by the National Testing Agency (NTA)".

In fact, since 2019, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been successfully conducting JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) at various centers of the country to admit students into its various programmes of studies in collaboration with NTA in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
During the deliberations in the Academic Council, a large number of members, including the Deans of Schools, Centre Chairpersons, and External Members of the council emphasized that CUET would provide a level playing field for numerous eligible students from across the country, reducing the burden of taking several entrance examinations.The Academic Council refuted the rumours spread about new faculty members at CUET.

Affirming the turn of events, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) bad habit chancellor (VC) M Jagadesh Kumar posted on Twitter: "JNU Scholastic Chamber concludes that JNU confirmations for various scholarly projects in 2022-2023 scholarly meeting will be through Normal College Selection test to be led by Public Testing Organization (NTA)."
In a composed proclamation gave on Wednesday, Jayant K Tripathi, head of confirmations, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), said that the college had "supported its prior choice to hold the selection test through the Normal Colleges Entry Test (CUET) for entrance into different scholarly projects for 2022-23."
Tripathi said that the choice taken on Wednesday is in similarity with a previous choice taken at the 157th AC meeting in Spring last year, when it had chosen to embrace and concede understudies through CUET at whatever point the NTA proceeds it.
